When you write novels, the plot is the set up of the story. Its the heart that lets the story moving. It guarantees that the readers are engrossed to the story till the very end. Make your ideas bigger. Go to a library to give more details about the story you want to write. It is much better if you write something that you are very familiar with. Get an idea about your novel. Anything could give you an idea like a dream that you just had, the cat in your house, the curtain hanging on the wall, your friends, etc.
If you put a character in a particular position, it would struggle to get its desires. For instance, if two characters both want to get the last piece of a precious gem, they would make an effort to get it. As the story goes along, one may be dishonest whereas the other might be decent. This could be a cause for some disorder or fights that would keep the story worth reading.
